Originally, this blog was launched to bring you a behind-the-scenes look at  ”A Lark Through Clarke Stable Tour and More” as the event unfolded. But alas, earlier this year it was decided for a variety of reasons that the stable tour is no more. Our blog has continued to include pictures that truly capture the beauty of Clarke County as photographed by artist/photographer, Janet Hitchen, along with ramblings of general  interest and about the rich history of Clarke County by Kathy Fisher, a resident of nearby Loudoun County and an admirer and friend of Clarke County. Anne Palmer Johnson, alias “PJ”, serves as a Contributing Author and Blog Administrator.

Janet Hitchen, a well known photographer who lives and works from her farm in Millwood, Virginia, has granted A Lark Through Clarke permission to feature her work on our web site. As an artist she trained at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, and Photoworks at Glen Echo Park. Her images evoke a beautiful feeling of timelessness and nostalgia. If you have not visited Janet Hitchen’s photo gallery, it is a must see.

Kathy Fisher has been a professional writer for twenty-five years, and currently works in McLean and Middleburg, Virginia.  She has contributed articles to local and regional publications, such as Northern Virginia Magazine and Middleburg Eccentric.

Anne PJ, a former online instructional designer, is now a dabbler in web site design and optimization for small businesses. Many moons ago, she co-authored  a quarterly publication for a Wall Street firm, Perspective from Southeast Asia.

Have a story to tell about life in Clarke County? Contributing authors are welcome!
